Capabilities
At Prototype Stampings, providing prototypes and short run stamping services has been our mainstay since 1969. Our expertise in prototyping is built on a solid understanding of the difficulties and cost that manufacturers face when bringing a new design to market. We are positioned as a single source solution for prototypes, working with everything from fully vetted, mature designs to concepts and physical samples that require reverse engineering. Through partnerships with other manufacturers, we can now also offer full production support for any size of order.
In addition to Short Run and High-Speed Stamping, Deep Drawing and Spinning, we offer parts made by CNC machining, Plastic & Rubber Molding, Dies, Fixtures, Molds, Spare Tooling, Metal Castings & Extrusions. If you require any other manufacturing service, we can typically support your requirements through our associate partners.
It goes without saying that production tooling for stamping can be very expensive; a good prototype will not only prove out a design, but it will also prove out the tooling. The cost of production tooling can vary greatly depending on the type of material used: the longer the run, the harder the steel; the harder the steel, the more difficult to machine. Our staff of industry professionals understands that selecting a tooling material that is most advantageous for the expected production quantity is an important factor in keeping prototype cost under control. The material being formed, the number of finished pieces needed, and geometric complexity all play a role in material selection. We specialize in prototypes and short run production and are equipped with advanced systems that are selected and designed to provide optimal results. In the hands of our team of highly experienced machinists and toolmakers, we can guarantee the precision, quality, and value for every project.
